Digital Motion X-Ray® is a diagnostic test that records real-time, full-motion x-ray imaging of any body joint in motion. It records at a rate of 30 frames per second. Digital Motion X-Ray, or DMX, is quick and easy and may reveal permanent ligamentous injury commonly missed by other diagnostic procedures.
Unlike standard fluoroscopy used in hospitals—where the x-ray machine is moved around the body part—DMX allows the body part being scanned to move. This new technology objectively and visually demonstrates aberrant movement of bones allowing the radiologist to specifically determine which ligaments or other soft tissues are injured. DMX is a motion x-ray imaging system used to visualize and evaluate all body joints in motion.
